An Investigation of Turkish University EFL Teachers’ Beliefs about Writing in English

چکیده

The study investigated instructors’ beliefs about the nature of L2 writing, teaching and assessing using inventory interview data from 106 instructors in Turkish EFL context. results showed that although value process-oriented genre-oriented approaches to they cannot disregard product-oriented approach. It was also found do not have sufficient knowledge writing assessment terminology digital tools can be used teach writing. Moreover, did reveal strong regarding portfolio assessment, self-assessment, peer feedback. Based on findings, several implications were suggested for teacher trainers policymakers terms designing pre-service training in-service development programs.
